Regenerative Agriculture 101
You might hear us throw around the term "regenerative agriculture" a lot. But what does it actually mean?
Beyond Sustainable
Sustainable means maintaining the status quo. Regenerative means improving it. Our goal isn't just to not harm the land, but to leave it better than we found it.
Key Practices
1. Cover Cropping
We never leave the soil bare. When we aren't growing cash crops, we plant cover crops like clover, rye, and vetch. These plants:
- Prevent erosion
- Fix nitrogen from the air into the soil
- Feed soil microbes
2. No-Till Farming
Plowing destroys the complex network of fungal hyphae and bacterial colonies that make up healthy soil. By minimizing disturbance, we keep this "soil food web" intact.
3. Biodiversity
Monocultures are fragile. We interplant flowers, herbs, and vegetables to create a resilient ecosystem that naturally resists pests and disease.
Join us in healing the earth, one harvest at a time.
